JOB DESCRIPTION

Support the Content Manager to successfully implement client strategies.

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION:

Strategic Content Generation, Distribution and Project Management

  • Support the line manager to generate high quality content for all media channels, including digital and social media.
  • Support the line manager to ensure high quality and accurate content from external producers of content for all media channels, including digital and social media.
  • Support the Media Liaison Manager and Line manager by way of strategic planning and creative input to ensure successful distribution of content across all media channels, including social media and PR.

 Social Media:

  • Strategically produce high quality content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube and Instagram
  • Coordinate and develop on-going monthly social media content calendars
  • Develop quality, timely and relevant content for social media distribution (across owned and earned social channels)
  • Manage online presence with social monitoring tools (Hubspot, BrandsEye, Meltwater, Google Analytics) to track, monitor and report on metrics and traffic activity.
  • Follow key industry trends, competitive insights and emerging social media/marketing/ecommerce technologies.

 Websites:

  • Effectively plan and brief website development projects including the use of information wireframes and functional spec documents.
  • Strategically produce high quality content for websites; this includes web pages and blogs.
  • Conduct SEO keyword research and provide and/ or manage SEO copywriting as required.
  • Optimise and maintain website performance on an on-going basis.
  • Manage and quality control all website content developed internally and by freelancers.
  • Upload website content via CMS (Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, Custom CMS)

Design:

  • Support with briefing and project managing the development of design components for key clients, including digital design.
  • Manage and quality control all design content developed internally and by freelancers.
  • Strategic distribution of content across all media channels, including digital channels.

Content Trafficking

  • Create and/or support the creation of content briefs and interrogate for processing.
  • Schedule all received briefs into the studio using all relevant systems, including project management system, job bags and work boards
  • Track and manage the workflow of all received briefs through the system to completion.
  • Ensure the timeous and successful completion of all briefs and communicate these to all relevant managers.
  • Manage and maintain all client job bags on company shared drive.

External and Internal Reporting

  • Assist and support the Media Liaison Manager setting up internal and external reporting templates.
  • Support the Media Liaison Manager with client reports in line with deadlines, and gain approval from line manager.
  • Produce internal reports in line with deadlines, and gain approval from line manager.
  • Manage the timeous dissemination of reports to clients as required.

External and Internal Reporting

  • Assist in setting up internal and external reporting templates.

Internal Relationship Management and Collaboration

  • Assist in managing the internal approval processes.
  • Regular written and verbal communication with relevant departments.
  • Liaise with the Media Liaison Manager, Designers and Social Media regarding brief clarity and timeous implementation.

Job Evaluation Criteria

Formal Education

  • Minimum relevant tertiary degree or diploma qualification in PR, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media Studies

Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in managing client accounts in an Advertising, Digital, Marketing or PR environment.
  • Digital and social media experience or exposure is necessary.
  • Experience with content or communication development and dissemination across the different media channels is advantageous.

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of related industries such as Marketing, Advertising, Media, PR and Digital.
